With the PITTCON Conference in town, students at Dolores T. Aaron Academy had the opportunity to participate in a hands-on light and color workshop. The leader of the demonstrations was John Varine, a veteran science teacher from Pennsylvania with over 30 years experience. More than 70 fourth graders had the chance to learn about how light and color are related and how their world is shaped by the light all around them.

ReNEW Dolores T. Aaron was selected as a finalist for a Let's Play grant for $20,000 toward a new playground. The grant will be awarded based on a Facebook voting contest that is being held from June 18th to June 28th. Votes can be placed once each 24 hours and the top 5 finalists will win the grant.
